Have you ever come across the saying, “once you let go of something, that’s when it finally comes to you”? Well, that’s precisely the tale of Steve and Harriet, who had been on the hunt for a new home for an extended period.

Unable to find a larger home suitable for their expanding family’s needs, Steve and Harriet made the decision to stay put and enhance their current residence in the charming village of Backwell. They enlisted our services to undertake a loft conversion, a double-storey extension, and the construction of a garden room to perfect their home. However, just before commencing the project, they stumbled upon the ideal property they had previously abandoned hope for.

Collaborating with Steve and Harriet, we adjusted their plans to focus on completing the loft conversion and garden room. Though they wouldn’t personally enjoy these new spaces, these enhancements significantly boosted the appeal and value of their existing property, facilitating the sale to acquire their new dream home, boasting superior potential and breathtaking vistas.

The loft was turned into a spacious double bedroom with an adjoining dressing area leading to a luxurious ensuite bathroom featuring a walk-in shower and cleverly integrated storage.

The standalone garden room, positioned adjacent to their kitchen extension (which would have been replaced by the initially planned double-storey extension), was designed as a substantial home office. Expansive French doors and glazed side panels opened out onto the lush garden, while a tall glass panel and a large Velux roof window flooded the space with natural light, creating a professional and serene work environment.

Steve and Harriet relocated to their new home before our work was completed, allowing the fortunate new owners to benefit from these pristine enhancements. Nevertheless, since the project’s conclusion, they’ve invited us to explore opportunities to elevate their new residence further, with the hope of finally enjoying the fruits of their labor and financial commitment.
