We approached Paul and Nadine in the first instance because of their experience and knowledge of building into large roof spaces. We live in a dormer bungalow and knew our project would involve taking half of one side and a large chunk of our existing roof away and joining a new extension onto it, so we wanted to ensure we were working with a company that could understand what we felt was a complex task.
The build started just as the pandemic took hold, so for the full run of our project, the construction industry went through a hugely challenging time. But Paul and Nadine worked tirelessly to minimise the impact of this on our build.
We knew it was going to be a big ask, but Paul, Nadine and their wonderful employees Sel and Chris, did an amazing job of working around us as we continued to live in the house throughout the project, and most of the ground floor rooms were impacted at some stage.
We were kept us up to date on costs, lead times and build issues and it was the great communication between the Excellence Living team which made such a difference to the whole experience. We knew that they were working to achieve the best possible results for us.
It would be naïve to think any build project wouldn’t have problems. Ours certainly did, but what impressed us was how Excellence Living faced into those issues head on and addressed them proactively, always looking for solutions and at the same time guarding our budget.
We met regularly throughout the course of our build so we could raise any concerns and be brought up to date with what to expect during the following week. They also shared the benefit of their knowledge and experience to suggest options and ideas as the project evolved.
We now have a fantastic new living space which allows us to maximise the views into the garden, and gives us a master bedroom which benefits from both the morning and evening sunshine.
For us, having our home dismantled and rebuilt was an exciting but testing thing to. Having the skill, knowledge and experience of Sel and Chris onsite everyday was so reassuring, and their work output and level of commitment was impressive.
We’re loving our new space, and are very grateful to Excellence Living for helping to turn our plans into a reality.

Nadine and Paul have helped us all the way in respect of our plans on our house. They helped us with our kitchen and utility room design and gently suggested minor amendments. I initially contacted Excellence Living back in 2011 for a quote for a loft conversion but unfortunately we were unable to proceed at that time. I contacted them again in 2016 and Nadine remembered me from the time before which I was very impressed with. At this time we were able to give the go ahead for the work to be carried out. Nadine kept in regular contact during the waiting period and informed us of how things would happen along the way. When the work began it was done very professionally and to a great standard. Paul and Joey were very friendly and a pleasure to have in our home. Paul talked us through each step of the process and when having an issue with planning he was very reassuring. When the weather had been bad and work had been slowed down because of it Nadine even came out to help the guys to get back on track!
Overall I would highly recommend Excellence Living and without a doubt use them in the future if needed.

The whole process, while daunting for those who don't understand building, was carried out in a very professional & good spirited manner. It was great to be updated of progress throughout, and that all the variations/options were discussed and agreed as the work progressed (no surprises at the end). The SharePoint folder is a great idea too, with everything in one place.

Dealing with Sell was a pleasure, who's ideas & experience throughout helped the project run smoothly. No more puddles at the end of the drive 🙂. The work area was always kept clean & tidy and having an outside toilet made a big difference in minimizing any disruption in the house. May we suggest company 'bumper hats', where there's hanging baskets nearby 😁

Thank you also for liaising with our adjoining neighbor, mainly regarding the shared drainage issue, but also for swapping over the garage door/frame. They are so pleased to now have a door that finally shuts, and just in time before winter starts.

Jessica is over the moon with her new room, and even started moving in before the flat pack was completed. Quotes from a 15 year old are few are far between, but we've heard 'amazing' and 'really cool' on a number of occasions 👍. The finished project is better than we expected, and changing the front facade from brickwork to rendering was definitely the best finish, even if we hadn't had wonky brickwork.

Superb communication from the beginning all the way to the end which gave us huge confidence. We have worked with different companies in the past but Paul and the whole team have exceeded all our expectations and made everybody else we worked with in the past look like rubbish. I recently had my integral garage converted into a home office and downstairs toilet by Excellence Living, and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. From start to finish, the experience was seamless and professional.

Paul, was great to deal with – friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to answer questions. He made sure everything ran smoothly and kept me updated throughout the project.

A special shoutout to the build team, Chris and Cam, who were absolutely brilliant. They were punctual, tidy, and clearly take great pride in their work. Their attention to detail was second to none, and they managed to create a space that looks fantastic and functions perfectly. The office is exactly what I needed – bright, modern, and comfortable – and the downstairs toilet has been such a practical addition.

So very happy with our loft conversion by Excellence. This was our first serious building project and we were naturally apprehensive about the process. We have three children and the thought of the upheaval put us off going ahead with our loft conversion for some time.

We found Excellence Living and from the very first point of contact the team have all been so friendly, helpful and courteous and we have felt very looked after. This is a company who certainly know what they are doing - and do what they say they are going to do! Living in a very old cottage my roof was vaulted over my bathroom meaning my husband couldn’t use it. We decided to have a Gable Roof put in
and have a lovely upstairs shower room. Paul and Nadine project managed the whole thing from the drawings to planning to construction. Excellent / prompt communication. His team were incredibly polite, respectful and even vacuumed behind them each day! They honestly went the extra mile and we now have exactly what we wanted. Ali and his mate Dale were extremely efficient and careful during this installation which required using indoor scaffolding. They were approachable and friendly during quite a tricky process. I employed Excellence Living to do a loft conversion and convert an upstairs bedroom into a bathroom, and I cannot rate them highly enough. The quality of work is superb and I wouldn’t consider using anyone else for any future projects.

From my first meeting with Paul I felt comfortable that the company had the skills and knowledge to carry out my project to the highest standard and I am thrilled with the end result. Nadine is a lovely, warm person who made me feel at ease from the first moment I spoke with her. She is great at keeping all the project files up to date so I was able to easily see what the actual and projected spend was on my project, and what elements we were still waiting for costs on. This was very reassuring as there is always the fear of overspending and running out of money to complete the project to the standard you want.

My site installers, Josh and Ollie, were amazing. They were punctual and polite, answered all my questions and were great at explaining what was going on and what to expect. I couldn’t have asked for a better team, particularly with their willingness to try and incorporate some of my more unusual requests ie. Building a seat in the shower, and making me feel comfortable being in my home at the same time as them. By the time they left, they felt like family.

Consultation Phase:

I reached out to excellence living after a family friend had recommenced them to me. I had an initial consultation with Paul who was fantastic at helping me form a plan of the total scope of work required.

Paul's wealth of knowledge was really helpful when deciding what areas of work needed doing for the budget I had in mind. Upon talking to Paul he gave me confidence that his team could deliver my scope of work to a very high level of quality without compromising on cost or time.

Build Phase:
Once the scope of work had been agreed, Paul and his team started work on my property. It became very apparent to me how efficient these guys were. Within the first week they had already ripped out the bathroom and the kitchen!!

Paul was extremely helpful as he would very regularly communicate with me any updates that had taken place and answer any questions/concerns I had.

Project Tracker:
The team were quick and great at remedying any variations that had occurred and it was great to track these in the tracker that Nadine had provided for me. This gave me the opportunity to track my total spend for the project.

Managing 3rd party contractors:
Excellence living managing all the external contractors was a weight lifted off my shoulders!! They relayed all the information I had previously said in the consultation phase to the electrician plumber etc. This meant it was all managed under one roof. The contractors were very good at keeping an open line of communication with both myself and excellence living. This allowed me to keep making any last minute changes very easily.

The Excellence living team did a fantastic job on renovating my property. They have turned what was a dated property into a modern looking flat. I want to extend my gratitude to the whole team who helped on this project.

We first approached Excellence Living in the summer of 2022 with the idea of creating a hobby room / spare bedroom in the loft of our newly purchased bungalow. When, after meeting with Paul, it became apparent that this would not work as we had hoped, he suggested an alternative solution. By putting a Velux window into our bedroom, and removing the old leaky conservatory we could build both the hobby room and a light filled sunroom onto the back of the property. We also decided on some internal alterations to open up the hallway.

Paul and Nadine managed all aspects of the design and planning stages, keeping us informed throughout the process. The build started in the New Year and Chris, Sell and the rest of the team did a great job! Excellence Living expect high standards from their employees, not only in the quality of their work but also in the way they conduct themselves. Having builders in your house for several months could be stressful but the Excellence team were unfailingly punctual, cheerful, friendly and mindful that this is our home. When, as is often the case, the build revealed some other issues with the house Paul and the team were there to advise on the best way to rectify them, provide quotes, and incorporate the additional work into their schedule. They also ensured that work carried out by their subcontractors met their standards and worked with them to resolve some minor issues.

We were delighted with our new space and so when we were ready for phase 2 there was no question that we would return to Excellence Living. This entailed a new kitchen (including removing a wall and blocking up some windows), some changes to the bathroom and removal of the porch. A different team this time, but Ali and Dean have lived up to what we had come to expect from Excellence Living. We are very happy with how this project has turned out.

Two years from moving in, Excellence Living have helped us turn a house that we bought because we loved the garden, into our forever home and we are delighted with the end result.

I had an excellent experience working with Excellence Living on my renovations project from start to finish. The team was professional, communicative, and finished everything to a very high standard. This involved a complete home renovation, including a new kitchen, two new bathrooms, optimising space layouts and a balcony refurbishment). Paul and his amazing team came in and knocked through 3 rooms for us, taking down weight bearing walls and putting in concealed Lintels. Re plastered all of the rooms and the new ceiling. Re-routed gas pipes and electric points and installed 12 ceiling spot lights, all ready for the new kitchen to be installed.

They were super efficient, professional, took all of the debris and cleaned after every day.

The friendly and super efficient service we received from Paul, Nadine and the whole team at Excellence Living was second to none. From the initial consultation, through all the work, to signing off the finished work, they were always professional, reliable and worked to the highest of standards. Costs were known at the outset, with any changes we asked mid-task, costed, discussed and confirmed, before undertaken, so NO hidden extras or unexpected surprises. We received a personal recommendation to use Excellence and we weren't disappointed. Their price was competitive and the delivery was professional and as you would expect from an established company with a proper team. They always responded to our concerns quickly and have been back since completion to look at a few minor issues so we have found that they are trustworthy with good customer services. The only slight issue is more of a general bit of advice to anyone undertaking a project - ensure you ask all of the questions and understand the full potential implications of the answers. Sometimes we were asked to make decisions about elements of the build with little in the way of advice being given as to the best approach or the implications of our decision. This has led to a couple of small issues which, with hindsight, could have been avoided with proactive advice from the Excellence Team as well as clearer view in our own mind about the final look and feel of the building so, if you are not using them to draw up the plans, ensure you have a very clear idea of what you want and, when asked questions during the build, make sure you fully understand the implications of your decision. That said, Paul and Nadine always took feedback onboard and reacted accordingly so, given some of the terrible experiences we have seen with other builders, we would definitely recommend Excellence. We love the finished extension and are left confident in their ongoing support should any issues arise. In short, we would definitely use Excellence again.

A big "Thank you" to Paul for coming out to look at something for me in connection with the great loft conversion he did 18 years ago, and which still looks like new. The no-cost solution looks promising, and I now know what to keep an eye on to maintain the windows in a good state.
